I have to admin that I almost went to school in England (!) and I still didn't know the difference between the different names. Thank you to CGP Grey for untangling all this up.

I'm nuts about treehouse. Seriously, if I can afford one some day, I will live in a treehouse :)
Everywhere you look, there's plants, sunlight, birds.... It would be nice even in the winter (although possibly too cold, depending on the climate...).

There is a german company, Baumraum, that makes amazing treehouses, and they have a special place in my heart :)

All of their projects are cool, but the Djuren treehouse is my favorite. The interior is so light and cozy, and surprisingly spacious. A cup of tea, a good book, and some relaxed time with birds and trees....

I'm in love with this house. Sigh....

Hi everyone! I'm just posting a couple of photos as a way of introducing myself. I take my dog, Nikki, out every morning for a couple of hours of exercise at different locations around San Francisco (and beyond, sometimes). Simple and clumsy neck warmer

My very first pattern! It's obviously a first... :p Simple and messy!

CO 24 stitches (i.e. even number of stitches)

Row 1: (K1, P1) repeat (simple rib stitch).

Repeat Row 1 for about 20 rows, until you have a piece that is ~8 inches long. I’ll call this part the Loop.

Row 21: Make 4 new stitches (2 on either side). I made my extra stitches by knitting into the back and the front loops of the first two and the last two stitches.

Rows 22-50: Knit all stitches until you get a scarf that can comfortably fit around your neck, not counting the Loop.

Row 51: Loop Insert: Decrease number of stitches to 22 (I used k2tog on either side of row)

Rows 52-62: (K1, P1) each row (make enough rows for a segment that is the same WIDTH (not length!) as the Loop.

Row 63: Increase by 4 stitches (front, back loop for two stitches on either side)

Row 64: Increase by 2 more stitches (back+front loop for one stitch in either side).

Rows 64-74: Knit all stitches

LOOP: sew the first and the last rows of the Loop together. Pull the scarf through the Loop, so that the Loop Insert is inside the loop.

I tatted some little pink flowers (fuzzy wool), and embroidered a simple branch (cotton thread), to decorate the Loop.
